If you sat a group of people down and asked them what their least favorite chore was many of them would say dusting. It is a necessary evil that we all have to face. Dust is made up of all kinds of nasty things, including dead skin cells, animal dander, pollen, decomposing insects and so much more. It is not enough to simply dust, you need to dust correctly! Lots of people dust incorrectly, which will just move the dust around. That is why our house cleaning experts in Dallas have come up with this list of the most common dusting mistakes, so that you can avoid them:

  1. Using feather dusters- We have all seen maids in movies with giant feather dusters, but the bottom line is that feather dusters just don’t work. The only thing they do is spread the dust around, so that you and your family will easily breathe in all of that nasty stuff. For a better alternative find an electrostatic duster or a even just a microfiber cloth.
  2. Dusting dry- Dry dust is difficult to remove because it can quickly and easily become airborne. Instead of dry dusting, spray a little bit of polish or dusting spray on your cloth or duster. This will help to actually grab and remove the dust, rather than allowing it to get into the air.

These are just a couple of the many mistakes that people make when they are dusting their homes. To learn more about the rest of the common mistakes please stay tuned for our next blog!
