Your carpet is a big investment. It can add a great deal of life and beauty to your home, it provides insulation to keep your home at a more comfortable temperature, and it can even filter out the air that you breathe everyday! We all have a pretty strong understanding of why vacuuming is important, but did you know that how you vacuum is just as important? There is a right and a wrong way to vacuum. Vacuuming correctly will prolong your carpet’s life! Vacuum properly by following these easy tips from our home cleaning pros in Dallas:
- Work with gravity- There is no point in dusting after you vacuum because all of that dust has to go somewhere, and it will settle into your carpet. That is why you should always dust before vacuuming!
- Change the bag in your vacuum often- As your vacuum’s bag starts to fill up, it becomes much less efficient. This bag should be changed often, but a good rule of thumb is to always change it when it is half full.
- Keep your floor picked up- There are lots of little things that can clog your vacuum, and may even break it, including broken glass, coins, bobby pins, food, paperclips and more. Protect your vacuum by picking up these types of nic-nacs before you use it!
These are just a few of the many vacuuming tips that can prolong the life of your carpet and keep it clean for your family! To learn more, check back next week for our upcoming blog.
